SEQTA
An information flyer has been sent to families instructing you all on how to get connected with ‘SEQTA Engage’. We anticipate all families will connect by week 8 of this term.
‘SEQTA Engage’ facilitates parents’ direct communication to teachers and the wider school community in a safe online forum. It contains many features, including ability to see key notices from the school, school reports, policies, term overviews, calendars and a forum to plan school events. The parent portal can be accessed from any device via either the web portal or the SEQTA Engage App.
If you need assistance in getting registered and connected with ‘SEQTA Engage’, please contact the school office. If your email has recently changed, please contact the office so it can be updated.
School Website
As mentioned in my previous blogs, the school website has had some maintenance over the past few weeks, in readiness to migrate it to a new site. The changeover to the new website will happen over the upcoming June long weekend. Please be mindful of this if attempting to access the site during this changeover period.
Reconciliation Week
This week we celebrate National Reconciliation Week. This week, we take the time to acknowledge and celebrate the history and culture of Indigenous Australians and work towards Reconciliation through activities and discussions. The theme for Reconciliation Week is; ‘More Than a Word. Reconciliation Takes Action’. It urges the reconciliation movement towards braver and more impactful action.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
Thank you to the parents and candidates who attended the Parent Sacramental Information Meeting last week. It was great to get the support and input from both the classroom teachers and Fr Vincent in preparing the candidates to receive the Sacrament in the coming weeks. As the information meeting was the beginning of the Sacrament of Reconciliation journey for our Year 3 candidates, I wish them well as they attend the enrolment Mass this Sunday morning, at 8:30am.
Lock Down Practice Drill
A reminder that we will be having a ‘Lock Down’ practice drill tomorrow, Friday 28 May. All of the students have been rehearsed and educated on the ‘Lockdown’ drill, which will happen before recess on Friday.

An ‘Information Session’ for prospectus families enrolling into Kindy for 2022 will be held on 16 June, beginning at 9:00am. Please come along if you would like to know more about the Kindy program for the 2022 school year and enjoy a tour of the school.
Girls Docker’s Cup
Well done to the girls football team who participated in the PSSA AFL Docker’s Cup, at Rushton Park last Tuesday. The girls tried their very best and played some really good and competitive football during the day and finished 8th. We hope they all enjoyed the experience and we thank them for representing the school in such a fantastic way.
200 Years of Catholic Education
On Monday, I attended with the Head Girl and Boy of St Damien’s the Mass, in Bunbury, to celebrate 200 Years of Catholic Education in Australia. This is a significant milestone for our system and one that was celebrated across our Nation.
Principal Awards
Over the past week some students have been sent to my office to receive a Principal’s Award for completing some exceptional work. I congratulate Scarlett Love and Ava Kreusch from Year 2G, for their fantastic work in their Spelling. Well done and keep up the great work!
School Closure Days
Just a reminder that the school will be closed next Friday 4 June and the following Tuesday 8 June. This will make for a 5-day long weekend for the students of our school.
