Italian Assembly

Next Wednesday 12 June is the day for the possibly one of the biggest events of the year; the Italian Assembly. After weeks of practice and preparation, the students are ready to entertain the community with a wonderful cultural experience.

All members of the school community are welcome to come along and enjoy the entertainment from this event. The Italian Assembly begins at 9:00am, in the Steve Dowie Hall.

As part of the day there will be a motor vehicle and motor cycle display in the church carpark, as well as traditional Italian games for the students to participate in.

Interhouse Cross Country Carnival

Yesterday we hosted the Interhouse Cross Country Carnival. This was a fantastic event, with the weather providing a sunny day for the students to run. All of the participating students are to be congratulated for their efforts in completing the respective cross country courses.

Parents and spectators are to be thanked for coming down to support the students and for cheering them on. Your presence on the oval certainly added to the excitement and atmosphere of the carnival.

A special thank you goes to Mr Meunier, for all of his planning and organising of the cross country carnival, and to all of the staff who assisted in making this a fun, safe and well-run event.

All place-getters and the winning House faction will be announced at the whole school assembly this Friday 7 June, beginning at 8:45am, in the hall. Parents are welcome to come along and join us for the assembly.

Sacrament of First Holy Communion

Next Sunday 16 June, some of our Year 4 students will be celebrating the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. All Year 4 students will be participating in the retreat day next Tuesday 11 June, to assist them in preparing to receive this very important Sacrament. We wish the Year 4 candidates the very best over the next week.

PSSA Inter School Sport

On Friday 7 June, our Year 5 and 6 students compete against Falcon Primary School in the PSSA Winter Sports Competition. All games will begin at 1:10pm, with all of them being played at Falcon Primary School.

We wish the competing students the best of luck.

School Disco

The school disco, organised by the P&F, is fast approaching. Tickets for this event can be purchased from the front office. Please read the disco flyer attached to the newsletter for more information.

Staff Professional Development Day

Last Friday 31 May, the school staff engaged in a Professional Development Day, which focussed on the ‘Making Jesus Real’ (MJR) philosophy through the school. The day was facilitated by Marty Ogle, who was able to assist staff in deepening their understanding of MJR and providing practical, everyday examples of how the MJR values can be implemented in the school.

Whole School Assembly

On Friday 7 June, we are hosting a whole school assembly, where Principal Awards will be presented. During the assembly, the Year 6’s will be presenting an item. The assembly will take place in the Steve Dowie Hall, beginning at 8:45am.

Parents and friends are permitted to attend and enjoy the assembly.
