'Crazy Dress Up Day': Friday 1st April

This Friday 1st April, we are inviting all students in the school to join in the ‘Crazy Dress Up Day’ by wearing their favourite crazy clothes to school. There is a gold coin donation that would be greatly received by participating students and will be used to support Caritas.

Parish Working Bee

The St Damien’s Parish is seeking volunteers to assist them in cleaning up the exterior of the church this Saturday, 2nd April, beginning at 8:45am. The tasks include the removal of tree and leaf debris, high pressure cleaning of the exterior of the church, and other minor works.

If you are able to assist for an hour or so, please bring along any outdoor work tools (rakes, shovels, high pressure hoses, etc) that could assist with the clean up. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated by Fr Vincent and the parish.

COVID Update

On Tuesday the State Minister for Education announced new changes to the COVID Safety Guidelines for schools. At this point in time, there are no changes in school operations until the end of term 1, with the focus being on our school remaining safe and open. Over the coming week or so, clarity will be sought regarding what guidelines are in place for the beginning of term 2; I will inform the school community of these once they are confirmed.

The number of positive COVID cases in the school has continued to occur through the school over the past week, which all have been corresponded to parents, when they have occurred. I thank all parents of the school for reading these important notices and for taking the appropriate actions, when required. What has really assisted managing the new cases of COVID in the school is when early information is disclosed to the school. Parents can continue to alert the school using the following ‘Self Report App’ link:

If you have any questions regarding this, please contact me at school.

Easter Raffle

Over the past fortnight families of the school have been generously donating to the school’s P&F Easter Raffle. We thank all families who have contributed and we look forward to the drawing of the raffle before the end of the term.

School Closure Day: Monday 9th May

A reminder that the school will be having a closure day on Monday 9th May. The purpose of the closure day is for the staff to engage in a Professional Development day, focusing on the school’s ‘Vision for Learning’ document. Please put this school closure date into your calendars.

Beach Sports

This Friday 1st April, our Year 3 students will be heading to the beach for their ‘Beach Sports’ program. Last week our Year 2 students had a great time in the water, especially riding the waves on their boogie boards and fetching balls from the shoreline.
