Term 2 Welcome
Welcome back to term 2 for the school year. I hope all families had an enjoyable holiday break and it is great to see all of the students settled back into school and engaging in the rigours of the school routines so quickly and effortlessly.
I am excited for the term ahead, as we continue to build on the hard work and efforts from term 1 and also continue to return to normal routines and operations.
At the end of last term, Interim Reports were made accessible to families, summarising the work ethic and behaviours of the students in the school. Please make contact with your child’s classroom teacher if you would like to discuss the outcome of the Interim Report, or any other matters pertaining to your child’s learning at school.
On Tuesday, as Australians we honoured all of the men and women who have participated in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations around the world, including the ANZACs who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I, as part of the ANZAC Day celebrations.
Through dawn services and commemoration events throughout Australia and the world, we remember and give thanks to all the fallen who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and peace we experience today.
Our Head Girl and Head Boy represented the school by laying a wreath on our behalf, at the community ‘Dawn Service’ which was held at the Dawesville Memorial. We also held a memorial service at school on Wednesday to acknowledge this significant event. During the school service, we were very lucky to have Captain Wayne Parsons, from the Dawesville RSL and an ex-serviceman, give a speech to all of the students about a significant and triumphant event that occurred during World War 2.
The enrolment period has begun for students beginning in 4 Year Old Kindergarten for 2024. If you have a child who is eligible to begin 4 Year Old Kindergarten next year, please ensure you complete and submit an enrolment form to the school office as soon as possible.
If you have any questions regarding the enrolment process of the school, please contact the office on 9583 2500.
Grand Parents Day
Staff Professional Development Day
On Monday, all staff participated in a Professional Development day in Dwellingup, focusing on their faith and understating of prayer, meditation and mindfulness. The day was facilitated by Dr Tania Hicks, a senior lecturer at the Catholic Institute of Western Australia.
Congratulations, Alice and Hamish!
Congratulations to Alice Mather and Hamish O’Donnell, from Year 6, for being selected to represent ‘Shootzone’ at the 3×3 National Championship in Ballarat (Melbourne) during the holidays! Both students had a fantastic tournament and a great experience competing in such a high-level competition and both are to be congratulated for their success in reaching the quarter finals for their respective categories.
Parents are encouraged to visit the school’s term planner on a regular basis to ensure you are informed about upcoming events during the year. The term planner can be accessed by clicking on the following link: School Events Calendar
