Term 2 Welcome
Welcome back to term 2 for the school year. I hope all families had an enjoyable holiday break and it is great to see all of the students settled back into school and engaging in the rigours of the school routines so quickly and effortlessly.
I am excited for the term ahead, as we continue to build on the hard work and efforts from term 1 and also continue to return to normal routines and operations.
At the end of last term, Interim Reports were made accessible to families, summarising the work ethic and behaviours of the students in the school. Please make contact with your child’s classroom teacher if you would like to discuss the outcome of the Interim Report, or any other matters pertaining to your child’s learning at school.
ANZAC Day
On Tuesday, as Australians we honoured all of the men and women who have participated in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations around the world, including the ANZACs who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I, as part of the ANZAC Day celebrations.
Through dawn services and commemoration events throughout Australia and the world, we remember and give thanks to all the fallen who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and peace we experience today.
Our Head Girl and Head Boy represented the school by laying a wreath on our behalf, at the community ‘Dawn Service’ which was held at the Dawesville Memorial. We also held a memorial service at school on Wednesday to acknowledge this significant event. During the school service, we were very lucky to have Captain Wayne Parsons, from the Dawesville RSL and an ex-serviceman, give a speech to all of the students about a significant and triumphant event that occurred during World War 2.

A reminder to parents that Mandurah Catholic College P&F Association is excited to announce that guest speaker Dr Justin Coulson will be attending the College in May 2023, offering a wonderful workshop for parents and guardians, centred around building positive relationships. To be held at 6.10pm on 10 May, the 90 minute session is titled ‘Parental Guidance – guide to successful parenting’.
Dr Coulson is a co-host and parenting expert on Channel 9’s Parental Guidance, the founder of happyfamilies.com.au, and one of Australia’s most trusted parenting experts.
