Parent/Teacher Meetings
Thank you to all of the parents who could attend the Parent/Teacher meetings that were hosted last week; I hope you benefitted from being able to sit with your child’s classroom teacher and discuss their progress for the year. For those parents who were unable to attend the Parent/Teacher meetings, please contact your child’s classroom teacher to organise an alternate time and date to meet.
Wickepin Parade Upgrade
A huge THANK YOU goes to the team of parent helpers who assisted Chris in rolling out the new lawn on the Wickepin Parade side of the school. The sight now looks fantastic, with the lush green lawn finishing off the landscaping requirements of the area. Given it is newly laid lawn, it does require approximately 6 weeks of uninterrupted growth before we can start walking on it, so I ask that all people refrain from using the new lawn area until the early weeks of next term.
Now that this area is being developed, there are future plans to make it another functional entry and exit point for students and families to use. Once the boundary fence is erected, we are considering the installation of an additional bike rack in the area, for the students to use, as well as signage and shade being installed. The developers have continued to complete the works and landscaping on the street side of the school and we look forward to this area being fully completed and looking amazing, in time.

Gilbert and Son's Fresh Food Market
Last Friday, a representative from Gilbert and Son’s Fresh Food Market, Mandurah, attended our morning assembly and presented our school with a donation of $1,750. This is an amazing amount and comes as a result of our St Damien’s School community supporting Gilbert and Son’s shop for the purchase of fresh foods.
Thank you to Gilbert and Son’s and a special thank you to our community for your contributions and efforts made in achieving this donation. We also thank Mr Lilly, for his continued efforts in promoting this initiative in the school.

School Uniform
As mentioned in last week’s blog, beginning next term, students are permitted to return to school wearing their summer school uniform. The students have until the end of week 2 as a transition period before the wearing of the summer uniform is compulsory for all students.
Please contact the school office if you require assistance ordering or purchasing the school’s summer uniform, in preparation for the beginning of term 4.
Welcome Back Mr Mac!
After a long period away from school, we welcome back Mr McCloskey to the 5B classroom. During his time of absence, Mrs Shelley Rasmussen has done a fantastic job ensuring the quality and continuity of learning has continued for the 5B students and we thank her for her dedicated and conscientious efforts over the past few months. We wish Mrs Rasmussen the very best as she takes on a teaching position at Frederick Irwin School in term 4.

Congratulations to Charlie Ellis and Darcy Brown, for their recent achievements with the Peel Junior Soccer Association. Darcy was awarded the ‘Coaches Award’ and Charlie was awarded the ‘Most Valuable Player’, for the Roo-Ball competition.
Congratulations also goes to Alice Mather, for coming 2nd in the ‘Mighty Jarrah Trail Run 8-15 Year Old Division’. She ran the 6km run in an impressive 32 minutes.
