NAIDOC Week
Next week our school community will be celebrating NAIDOC Week. The theme for NAIDOC Week in 2023 is, ‘For Our Elders’.
‘Across every generation, our Elders have played, and continue to play, an important role and hold a prominent place in our communities and families.’
Our students will be participating in some events and activities throughout the week, to recognise and celebrate NAIDOC Week.

Inter House Cross Country Carnival
Yesterday we hosted the Inter-House Cross Country Carnival. This was a fantastic event, with the weather, thankfully, holding out to provide a sunny day to run for the students. All of the participating students are to be congratulated for their efforts in completing the respective cross country courses.
Parents and spectators are to be thanked for coming down to support the students and for cheering them on, whilst running. Your presence on the oval certainly added to the excitement and atmosphere of the carnival.
A special thank you goes to Miss Sanders, for all of her planning and organising of the cross country carnival, and to all of the staff who assisted in making this a fun, safe and well-run event.
All place-getters and the winning House faction will be announced at the whole school assembly next Monday, 26 June, beginning at 8:45am, in the hall. Parents are welcome to come along and join us in the assembly.

Parent Teacher Meetings
Parent-Teacher interviews have been scheduled for Thursday 27 July, beginning at 12:00pm. Parents can book in their respective interview times now, using the following link:
Parent-Teacher Interviews Booking Link
The Parent-Teacher interviews are a great opportunity for parents to get an understanding of how their child/children are progressing at school and to discuss potential learning goals set for the remainder of the year.
Please note, school will close early on this date, at 11:45am. Any students who are unable to be collected at the early close time will be supervised by staff up to 3:00pm, in the school hall.
Please contact the office if you are experiencing any difficulties when booking for the upcoming Parent-Teacher interviews.
Mid-Year School Reports
At the end of next week, parents will be receiving their child’s school report, via SEQTA. I encourage all parents to take the time to read through the school report with their child/children, as it is a reflection of the valuable learning that has taken place over the semester.
It is important to note that it is a ‘Mid-Year Report’, showing the growth and achievement of each student at this ‘point-in-time’. It does also mean that there is another semester ahead where students can continue to develop and meet their goals, and improve in their overall outcomes for the year.
Parents will get the opportunity to discuss these reports with teaching staff at the upcoming ‘Parent Teacher’ meetings, scheduled for Thursday 27 July (as explained above).
School Disco
The School Disco, hosted by the P&F, is on this Friday 23 June. The P&F has sent out information via SEQTA and your child’s SeeSaw page. There is still time to purchase tickets for this event, from the front office. I am looking forward to a fantastic night being had by all of the attending students.
PSSA Winter Sports Carnival
Tomorrow, Friday 23 June, our Year 6 and some Year 5 students will be competing in the PSSA Winter Sports Lightning Carnival. All of these sports are being played across the Mandurah region throughout the day and we wish all participating students the very best of luck and hope they enjoy the experience.
PSSA Winter Sports
Last Friday, our Year 5 and 6 students competed against South Halls Head Primary School in the PSSA Winter Sports Competition. All students had a fantastic time representing the school, albeit in some trying weather conditions at one stage. As a school we were very competitive across all sports and the students are to be congratulated for their efforts.

SEQTA
After experiencing problems with SEQTA in recent weeks, it seems the platform has been corrected. Please contact the office if you are still unable to reinstate the SEQTA App and/or login, as the office staff will be able to guide you through this process.
School Calendar
Parents are encouraged to visit the school’s term planner on a regular basis to ensure you are informed about upcoming events during the year. The term planner can be accessed by clicking on the following link: School Events Calendar
