Christmas Concert

Congratulations to the whole school community for being a part of our fantastic school concert last night.  As this was my first concert as Principal of the school, I was truly amazed by the wonderfully entertaining show put on by the students. Whilst the weather did turn colder as the night got on, it certainly did not hamper the enthusiasm and excitement of the students.

I thank all of the parents and friends of the school community who were able to attend and support the students in the school and to assist in organising the correct costumes for their performances. I am also truly grateful to all of the organising staff who ensured the concert ran smoothly and enabled all students to participate in the performances.

During the evening, ‘End of Year’ awards were presented to students across all classrooms in the school, as well as the Graduating class awards. Congratulations and well done to all students who did receive an award, as they were all thoroughly deserved.

Water-Slide Day

Last night it was announced that Wannanup was the winning faction for the year and have earned the privilege of engaging in a water slide fun day next week. Given the combined efforts of all of the students in the school throughout the year, all students will be going on the water slide next Monday 6 December, with Wannanup students getting additional time for their winning effort.

Because of this special treat, all students are to wear their sports uniform to school and to bring their bathers, a towel and a rash vest so they can enjoy the slide. A message regarding this has already been sent to parents via SEQTA notice board, please take the time to read this at your earliest convenience.

2022 Year 6 Student Leaders Announced

During the Christmas concert last night, the 2022 Year 6 student leaders were announced. In recent times, over 40 current Year 5 students nominated to fulfil these positions and all are to be congratulated for their courage and efforts in pursuing a leadership role in 2022. Congratulations goes to the following students who have been successful in attaining a Leadership position in 2022:

Inter-House Beach Carnival

Tomorrow, Friday 3 December, is the Inter-House Beach Carnival for all students in Pre Primary to Year 6. This is going to be a fantastic day, with the weather looking very favourable and warm. Parents can assist by ensuring that your child/children come to school already wearing sunscreen. Parents are invited to come and watch the carnival, with the class times scheduled as follows:

·       9:15am – 10:15am:       Pre Primary & Year 1

·      11:15am – 12:45pm:  Year 2 & 3

·      1:15pm – 2:45pm:      Year 4 & 5

Parents, please make sure if you are taking your child/children home directly from the beach that you sign them out with your child’s/children’s class teacher, before departing.

We know this is an exciting time for students and I hope they can enjoy the significance of the achievement in graduating from Year 6.

Kindy Graduation

There is no assembly on tomorrow morning, Friday 2 December, due to the Inter-House Beach carnival taking place. Our final Monday morning assembly will take place next Monday 6 December, beginning at 8:45am, where all remaining ‘Wicked Work’, ‘Rising Star’ and other certificates will be awarded.

God Bless,
