Athletics Carnival
The School Athletics carnival is being held next Friday 25 August. The carnival is for all students in Pre Primary to Year 6. Whilst there will be some competitive spirit amongst the students, the main focus of the carnival is about participation, fun and earning House points.
Next Tuesday 22 August, some students in Years Pre Primary to Year 6 who qualified, will be competing in the ‘Jumps and Throws’ day. Parent help to measure and record student results is desperately needed for this day, so if you are able to assist, please contact the office.
We hope and pray for wonderful weather next week so our athletics carnival can go ahead smoothly.
Book Week
What a great celebration of ‘Book Week’ we had on Monday. We started the day with a fantastic Book Week Parade, where all of the students looked amazing dressed up as their favourite character from a book they have read.
Thank you to all of the families of the school for assisting their child/children in getting dressed up for this occasion and congratulations to all of the students for fully immersing themselves into the spirit of Book Week. Well done, also to the staff, who all dressed up for the occasion, making it further enjoyable and fun for the school community.
Yesterday, the students participated in a ‘Book Week’ incursion, showcased by ‘Perform Education’. The students were thoroughly entertained by the short plays that were based on the theme, ‘Way Too Cool’. We thank Mrs Denning for organising this event.

Wickepin Parade Carpark
As mentioned last week, the carpark on Wickepin Parade has finally been completed and is already being used by parents, which great. Work is currently happening to complete the footpath into the school and have the external fence fitted for safety and security of the school. Hopefully these will be completed in the coming weeks.
Assumption of Mary
On Tuesday, 15 August we celebrated the Assumption of Mary. Students in Years 4 to 6 celebrated a Mass, with Fr Pat Rooney. All of our students in Years Pre Primary to Year 3 participated in a Liturgy, in the church, to acknowledge and pray for this important Mother figure in our life and faith.

Inter School Basketball
Well done to our Senior Girls and Boys basketball teams who competed in the PSSA Basketball competition, last Tuesday. The girl’s team is to be congratulated for their efforts in finishing second in the event, losing the grand final game of the day by only 3 points. The boys were very competitive, finishing 4th for the competition. Well done both teams for their fantastic efforts and competitive spirit shown throughout the competition. We thank Mr Lemm, Mrs Spencer, Mrs Chalwell and Mr Forrester for assisting with the basketball teams.

Athletics Carnival and BBQ Volunteers
As the Athletics carnival fast approaches, we will need parent volunteers to make this event a success. We will be asking parents to help out, beginning with the ‘Jumps and Throws’ day on Tuesday 22 August, from 8:45am until approximately 12:30pm. We also require some help with the BBQ on the Athletics Carnival Day. If you are able to assist, even just for an hour or so, could you please make contact with the office on 9583 2500 or via direct message (SEQTA) to the office. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.
SEQTA
After experiencing problems with SEQTA in recent weeks, it seems the platform has been corrected. Please contact the office if you are still unable to reinstate the SEQTA App and/or login, as the office staff will be able to guide you through this process.
School Calendar
Parents are encouraged to visit the school’s term planner on a regular basis to ensure you are informed about upcoming events during the year. The term planner can be accessed by clicking on the following link: School Events Calendar
