Year 6 Confirmation Mass

Congratulations to all of the Year 6 students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation, last Sunday. It was a special Sacramental Mass, celebrated by Fr Christian. We thank all of the parents, sponsors, family members and friends for their support of the Confirmation candidates over the preparation period and also thanks goes to all of the staff who assisted with the preparation of the sacrament and for attending the Mass. A special thanks goes to the students in the school choir who were able to attend and sing beautifully throughout the Mass.

'R U Ok' Day.

Today is ‘R U OK Day’. Sometimes, we do not really know what people, especially those close to us, are really going through; the chances are, someone you may know might be really struggling at the moment.

Today is the perfect day to reach out to that special someone and offer genuine support for what they may be going through, and it all starts with a simple question and a short conversation.

So please take the time to ask that someone, ‘R U OK’, and even more time to listen to what they have to say. A simple question could be the change in someone’s life that is needed.

PSSA Interschool Athletics Carnival

Today is the Inter School Athletics carnival, being held at Mandurah Catholic College. We have approximately 80 students representing the school and we wish them the very best for carnival. They have been completing morning and playtime training over the past fortnight and they are to be congratulated for their efforts in getting prepared for the carnival. A full report about the results of the carnival will be in next week’s newsletter.

Footy Friday

Next Week is ‘Footy Friday’, on Friday 22 September, students get to come to school in free dress, wearing the colours of their favourite sporting team. I will definitely be getting out my Navy Blue and White’s for the event.

School Busy Bee

Next term we are having a Busy Bee in the morning of Sunday 22 October. Please put this date in your diaries and come along for an hour or 2 if you are able to help out. This Busy Bee is part or the Alcoa grant initiative, where a generous donation has been made to the school to carry out maintenance and improvement duties.

Dads of St Damien's Camp Out

The annual ‘Dads of St Damien’s Camp Out’ is on again this year, scheduled for Saturday 28 October. Please put this important date on your calendars if you are interested in attending.

Behaviour Focus

The current behaviour focus is for ‘students to remain in the Kindy area before 8:15am’. What this means for students who do arrive to school early, from 8:00am, they are required to wait in the Kindy area where they are supervised by a staff member, not outside their classrooms or around the school.

Term 4 Summer Uniform

Next term, students in Year 3 to 6 are permitted to return to school wearing their summer school uniform. The students have until the end of week 2 as a transition period before the wearing of the summer uniform is compulsory for all students.

Please contact the school office if you require assistance ordering or purchasing the school’s summer uniform, in preparation for the beginning of term 4.

School Calendar

Parents are encouraged to visit the school’s term planner on a regular basis to ensure you are informed about upcoming events during the year. The term planner can be accessed by clicking on the following link: School Events Calendar
