Year 6 Rottnest Camp

This week our Year 6 students are currently enjoying the fantastic opportunity of participating in the Rottnest camp. The students have had two action-packed days, touring the guns on Oliver Hill, snorkelling at ‘The Basin’, competing in the amazing race, going for a night walk, watching a movie at the cinemas, and a lot more. With two more days to go, we know they will not only come home tired, but will have a lot of stories and exciting adventures to talk about. I am enjoying being on camp with the Year 6 students, watching them enjoy all of the experiences and opportunities Rottnest has to offer.

More information regarding the Year 6 camp will be included in next week’s newsletter.

2022 School Leaders

It is that time of year when our current Year 5 students go through the process of nominations and voting for the 2022 student leaders. Whilst this is both an exciting and nervous time for the participating students, it is a great opportunity for them to develop and grow in their leadership capacity and skills at school.

I congratulate all of the students who have chosen to take on the challenge to participate in the 2022 Leadership program of the school and look forward to announcing the successful students at this year’s Christmas Concert.

Year 5 Camp

Last week I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the Year 5 camp at Fairbridge, in Pinjarra. Not only were we blessed with great weather, the students got the opportunity to participate in a number of fun and challenging outdoor activities, including rock climbing, abseiling, archery and a low ropes course.

All of the students are to be congratulated for the way they participated in all of the camp activities and for their excellent behaviour throughout.

Many thanks goes to all of the staff who assisted in the planning and organising of the camp and to those who were able to attend the camp last week.

2022 School Planning

Planning is under way for the 2022 school year, with consideration being given to the structure of the classrooms and staffing in the school. Whilst there is plenty of time for this to be formalised, it is important that this is organised effectively so that all of the students can make an easy transition and have a successful start to the upcoming school year. A survey will be sent out to parents in Week 7, which will be the only avenue where parental requests/considerations for your child’s education for the 2022 school year can be made. Please be mindful that staffing arrangements have not been finalised and this is not an opportunity to nominate preferred teachers for your child/children.

If you know your family are moving next year, could you please advise the office as soon as possible (if you have not already done so) to aid with planning for classes for next year. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Christmas Concert

Preparations have started for this year’s Christmas concert, being held on Wednesday 1 December, beginning at 5:30pm. Classes have started practicing their concert items during the week and are looking forward to celebrating this wonderful event in the school calendar.

Friday House Assembly

A ‘House Assembly’ is being held tomorrow, Friday 12 November, beginning at 8:45am in the hall. The usual ‘Wicked Work’, and ‘Rising Star’ awards will be issued to the deserved students. Parents and friends of the school community are welcome to come and join us.

God Bless,
