Lent

On this the second week of Lent, we are given the hopeful image of Jesus being transfigured before the eyes of Peter, James and John. This event encourages us all to pause and reflect on our own lives and faults and to look at the path we are on, and how does the lives we live lead us on a path to the Lord’s eternal glory.

During the period of Lent, we are asked to support ‘Project Compassion’, with donation boxes being held in every class. All donations, big and small, will be greaty appreciated by Caritas Australia. Some classes have started filling their ‘Project Compassion’ boxes with coins, which is greatly appreciated.

Thank You

A big thank you to the parents in Years 1 and 2 who are assisting with the covering of new Reading books that have been purchased for the school. The books have been purchased to support the Reading program and students in the Early Years, and the covering and accessioning of these is a very big task. Your parent help is greatly appreciated.

COVID Update

Yesterday the Education Minister Sue Ellery made a significant announcement regarding the changes to the rules in place for students and adults in schools identified as ‘Close Contacts’ and their quarantine requirements.

Given the short time period between the announcement and the implementation period, important communications will be sent to all parents and carers regarding the updated definitions and changes, later today.

Please, if you have any questions regarding this, please contact me at school.

Beach Sports

This Friday 11th March, our Pre Primary will be heading to the beach for their ‘Beach Sports’ program. Last week our Year 6 students had a great time in the water, especially riding the waves on their boogie boards.

Congratulations, Indiana!

A special congratulations goes to Indiana Chalwell, who won three gold medals in the recent Country Surf Life Saving Championships over the weekend. Indiana won the Beach Sprint, Flags and Relay competitions. Well done, Indiana on this great achievement.

Principal Awards

Over the past week some students have been sent to my office to receive a Principal’s Award for completing some exceptional work. I congratulate Kiyo Anderson, Ella-Rae Mackintosh and Finn Ridout, from Year 1G, for their fantastic efforts in their Italian, and Alice Mather, in Year 5G for her great work in Spelling. Well done and keep up the great work!

God Bless,
