Book Week
Next Monday 14 August is a very exciting day in the school; it is the day of our ‘Book Week’ parade. This year, the theme for ‘Book Week’ is ‘Read, Grow, Inspire…’. All students in Years Kindy to Year 6 are encouraged to dress up in their favourite story characters to celebrate this event. Proceedings will begin at 9:00am in the Hall.
We look forward to a fantastic day celebrating Book Week.

Wickepin Parade Carpark
The carpark on Wickepin Parade, has finally been completed and ready to be used by the school community. Whilst parents can now use the carpark for pick up and drop off, parents will need to enter the school through the school gates on Wickepin Parade (near the Ropes playground/chook shed) until the planned footpath linking the carpark to the school is installed.

Feast of Mary MacKillop
On Tuesday, 8 August celebrated the Feast Day of Saint Mary MacKillop. Students in Years 4 to 6 celebrated a Mass, with Fr Pat Rooney. All of our students in Years Pre Primary to Year 3 participated in a Liturgy, in the church, to acknowledge and pray for this special day and for the life and inspiration Saint Mary MacKillop has provided for us.

Year 4 MCC 'Taster Day'
Today, our students in Year 4 are attending a ‘Taster Day’ at Mandurah Catholic College. This day provides the students with the opportunity to get an insight to what Secondary School has to offer and to engage in some fun learning activities. We hope our Year 4’s enjoy the experience.
Inter School Basketball
Next Tuesday 15th August, we have a number of students from Year 6 representing the school at the Inter-School Basketball competition, at the MARC. They have been training for this event over the past week and we wish these students the very best and hope they enjoy the experience.
Athletics Carnival
As the Athletics carnival fast approaches, we will need parent volunteers to make this event a success. We will be asking parents to help out, beginning with the ‘Jumps and Throws’ day on Tuesday 22 August, from 8:45am until approximately 12:30pm. If you are able to assist, even just for an hour or so, could you please make contact with the office on 9583 2500 or via direct message (SEQTA) to the office. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.
Whole School Assembly
There is a whole school assembly being held this Friday 11th August, in the Steve Dowie Hall, with the Year 1 class presenting an item. The assembly will begin at 8:45am, with St Damien’s and Principal’s Awards being presented to the deserved students. Parents and friends of the school community are welcome to join us.
